Best threadlocker for tiny hinge screws

I’m seeing repeat loosening on stainless 1.2 mm hinge screws even after a full degrease with 99% IPA and a tiny drop of Loctite 242. Anyone getting better retention with 222MS or Vibra-Tite VC-3 on nickel-plated hinges while keeping torque around 0.05 N·m and avoiding seized threads in a humid shop?

And > hinges while keeping torque around 0.05 N·m and avoiding seized threads in a VC-3’s been best on 1.2 mm stainless into nickel for me: two thin coats, let each dry 10–15 min, assemble dry — holds at 0.05 N·m and no seizure in a damp shop… If you stick with Loctite, a quick hit of 7649 on the female threads makes 222MS cure — have you tried that?

I’m with @csanders10 on VC‑3 for reuse in humidity, but if you want to stay with 222MS on stainless/nickel, give it a “jump‑start” with a passive‑metal primer — dab primer on both threads, then a tiny dot of 222MS — so it cures and still breaks free. A quick wipe and a light scuff with a fiberglass pen helps, too — have you tried primer yet?
