Ever had one of those days where your lens just doesn’t want to be ground evenly? I had a 1.67 high index last week that swore it was 2mm thick at the edge but just wouldn’t play nice. I swear it gave me the side-eye every time I tried to check it in the polisher. Anyone else have a lens that seemed to have its own personality?
I get that! It’s like the lens has a mind of its own sometimes; i had one that kept slipping out of the pucks — it felt like it was trying to escape.
I totally know what you mean! I once had a lens that refused to cooperate during polishing too. I found that adjusting the speed or even checking if the pucks were level made a huge difference.
I’ve had lenses that just wouldn’t level out either; sometimes switching up the polishing solution helps. Have you tried tweaking that?
